Party on March 10th.

We had a party again in Grace's house. Many new comers this time, and most of them came from Hong Kong. we had a great meal together. Maybe because there are so many Chinese, Grace also cooked some Chinese food. I really love that^^ Dinner time... Me and my lovely food. ^^ The topic of the talking is what is your strong point. David was talking about his strong point. Some people's talking was pretty funny, which made us laugh... the most intesting strong point I heard is from a studen from Hong Kong. She said her strong point is that she is still young. Right! we are still young, which can provides us many oppertunities... The party is indeed a big international party. we came from 13 countries. hearts from different countries melt together in this small but cosy house.

DTC-Daedeok Toastmasters Club

Daedeok Toastmasters Club is held on every thursday. It is the first toastmasters club in Daedeok/Daejeon area. Toastmasters is the best way to improve people's communication skills. Lose fears of public speaking and learn skills that will help people be more successful in whatever path they've chosen in life. I attended this club on March 9th, and found it is indeed a good place to improve English speaking and listening skill, share other people's life and feeling ,as well as entertain oneselfe. I benefit from all those aspects. There are several sessions in the meeting: Word Master, News Report, Joke Marster, Table Topic, DTC member speach. Chairman Hioton was hosting the meeting. Sung il 오빠 was giving a speech. Harvey was giving a speech. Sung il 오빠 won the speech.

"Tie Me"

A gift from my friend. He is really cute, isn't he? He is a cord wrapping, which can be winded by a wire in order to avoid chaos on desk. When I look at him, I seem to read a story behind him. My imagination is provoked by its facial expression and body gesture. hehe ~~ And I'd like to give him a name, how about MR. Scream... 嘿嘿嘿

KAIMIX-Cartoon shop

Several times, I just passed by this cartoon shop with curious about what it is like. Today, I got a chance to visit it, which made me really excited. The front of this shop is not big. You can say it is so small that is easily ignored. ^-^; The name of this shop is KAIMIX. It comes from the combination of KAIST and Comics. (카이믹스) The interior is much spacious than I thought. I was amazed by numerous comics which are arrange in two-layer book shelf around the room. And the reading area seems very comfortable. Also, I noticed that some people were eating their dinner there. Then I realized that this shop provide "multi-service" . It is indeed a good place to relax.

We also had our dinner there. Eating as well as reading is new experience for me in Korea. After dinner, we focused on reading. Actually, I was reading Korea version 阿拉蕾（아라레), I chose that book for its simple word and already-known contents, which was easy for me to read. And I found it is indeed a good way to learn Korea. I had a deep impression of word learn by this way, because I learned word through a context rather than memorize word by rote. I will visit that shop often from now on. hehe

Trip in Seoul

Trip in Seoul - Insadong 인사동

Insa-dong is one of the popular places in Seoul that represents Korea. Insa-dong is filled with streets where people can feel the culture and tradition of Korea from the great number of small galleries, antique art stores, Korean traditional paper shops, paperhanger's shops, handicraft articles shops, ceramic ware stores, traditional restaurants, and traditional cafes. This is the best place to buy most Korean articles and see most Korean things.

Trip in Seoul - Gyeongbokgung 경복공

Hanbit church provided an oppertunity to travel to Seoul so that foreigners can enhance the understanding of history and culture of korea . Many Habit church people participated in this trip. People with different nationality and culture, such as China, USA, Canada, Japan, Colombia, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Russia, India, gathered to share the enjoyment of the trip. Harvey is really good at hosting. He was asking everybody to introduce themselves, and at the same time, he pushed people from different country to sing their own country's song. I was also forced to sing a chinese song ^^; Songs pleased everybody, I didnt feel bored at all during the way to Seoul. What great is that I got chance to appreciate songs from Mongolia, Russia, Japan and India. That was fantastic. The overview of Gyeonbokgung. Some people dressed in ancient cloth standed in front of the Heungnyemun, which made me feel that I traveled back in ancient time. A friend of mine who comes from America. The interior view of Geunjeongjeon. It is a place where ceremonies of the state such as new year's greetings to the king by civil and military officials, were held, and where foreign envoys were received. Geunjeongjeon was first build in 1395 but was burned down during the Japanese invasion of 1592 and then rebuilt in 1867. Mongolia people, Harvey, Grace and her husband and me were in front of the Gyeonghoeru. ME^^ The beauty of Gyeonghoeru The structure of the building: The room was lifted up, I thought the basement was used to warm the room. My zodiac: Rooster Grace, Harvey and me were in front of the national folk museum.

A party in Grace's house

Grace invited us to the party in her house on Fridy. This is the first "Grace's house gathering party" on this semester. I met many new friends there and also we enjoyed a delicious meal. Grace is welcoming new comers. Food was served..^^ The hostess Grace was hosting the party. She is so nice and elegant. She always give the warmth to people. We were chatting in the party. Telling story of each person and comunicating with others are the goals of the gathering. A musican was playing music in the party. She played the well know music "Arilang" and the theme music of "대장금"（大长今） People from different country and different culture gethered here. We talk and laugh and share each person's life. The party warm and cheer up each person. Thank Grace and her husband to provide such good oppertunity to us. It made my life here in Korea more colorful. ^^

Worship in Hanbit Church

The worship held on every sunday. Many Korean and foreigners attend the worship. Most of them are Christians. I go there just because it is held in English, so that I can get to know a little bit about the worship and a little knowledge about Bible. Actually, I dont understand the lecture about the Bible. And sometimes I am curious that why those people believe those story about Jesus while I dont give a care. I think I will never understand what those people think if I dont believe Jesus... Anyway, those church songs are really beautiful. And I'd like to be there just for listening to those songs. All members were singing Church songs. James was giving a lecture of "The Tabernacle in the Wilderness"

세배

A Lunar new year celebration party hold in my professor's house. We were giving 세배 to professor and his wife. We knelt and bowed, which show great appreciation and respect to the seniors. In Korea, this type of bowing is usually reserved for special accasions, such as visiting ancestors' graves and bowing on the lunar new year's day. While in China, we never do this bowing but only when in the funeral of relatives. To my memory, I only did this once in my life before.
