Trip to Hahoe folk village4-Inside the village

"Hahoe Maeul" got this name because it is surrounded by a river. The village keeps Korea traditional style well. Touring in Hahoe village seems having a tour in "real" Korea. hehe Some wooden sculptures caught my eyes. People made human features on trunks, and especially exaggerate the genitals. It is quite interesting. The photo bellow is the heating system of the house. People cook outside, while the heated air will go under the house to warm the floor. It is a really energy saving way. The mysterious rope hang from the roof. Now, you know the rope's function^^. It helps people to keep balance when they get off the floor and put on their shoes. An interesting application of User-Centered Design:P
